Australian Eastern Barn Owl- Tyto Javanica. Hand Carved Owl Sculpture, Tas Wansbrough 2025
This sculpture of the Barn Owl forms part of my ongoing series of Birds of Prey. This series will be a lifelong pursuit and each bird created will be uniquely different.
Hand Carved Geelong Coast Limestone sculpture of an Australian Eastern Barn Owl. This beautiful sculpture has evolved from a rugged piece of ancient limestone that harbours crusts and reefs of shells from hundreds of thousands of years of sediment formation. The Owls earliest ancestors, primitive birds and primitive therapod dinosours, date back to the Mesozoic Era (252-66 Million Years ago) Birds were just starting to evolve arounds the same time limestone was forming!
